Pentium II 233 MHz processor

There are many things to consider when buying a PC (Personal Computer). But none is more important than your system's microprocessor. As Pentiumâ II 233 MHz processor is the "brain" of computer, it has a major impact on your PC (Personal Computer) performance. Microprocessor is the part that interprets and carries out instruction. There are parts of the processor jobs is process the data (raw material, meaningless) to information (meaningful and can make decision). In large computer such as super computer, mainframe, minicomputer, and workstation often comprise a number of chips (IC-Integrated Circuits). But in microcomputer or Personal Computer (PC), the processor is a single chip, called a microprocessor. The chips are already plugged into circuit boards. In the term Central Processing Unit (CPU) contains the intelligence of the machine, it is where calculations and decisions take place. Pentiumâ II microprocessor is a product of INTEL Corporation and established from the year 1997. Pentiumâ II processor is the most advanced processor available with Intel MMXTM (Multimedia Extension) enhancement technology, and delivers a whole new level of multimedia and communication experience. Pentiumâ II processor also allows you to enjoy the variety and excitement of the Internet. Calls made with Intel Video Phone are smoother and clearer. And in addition to the new options available to you, the Pentiumâ II processor runs all your current applications. Pentiumâ II is better than other microprocessor such as AMD K6, and Cyrix 6X86 MX; it's because Pentiumâ II will performs most stable compare with other brand microprocessor. From the speed of applications, the brilliance of graphics and the breadth of imaging capabilities, you'll know you've entered a whole new dimension with the Pentiumâ II processor. 233 MHz (Megahertz) is a speed of microprocessor and also is a unit of frequency, however, megahertz in computer term is means "million of cycles per second". If the 233 MHz speed is not enough, you can upgrade your 233 MHz to 400 MHz or 300 MHz with added some extra money. In my opinion you may upgrade your processor speed. It's because in computer term, "which computer processing faster, which one better" or the faster, the better. Your software performance will thrive on Intel's Pentiumâ II processor. Intel has been leading the world in microprocessor development for over 25 years, and Pentium processors are trusted choice of consumers in the majority of PC (Personal Computer). How do you know an Intel processor is inside your PC (Personal Computer)? Simply look for the Intel Insideâ logo on the casing outside.

32 Mbytes RAM

The memory unit of a computer typically has a main memory, cache memory and secondary (backing) memory. The main memory (DRAM-Dynamic random Access Memory) holds data instructions for immediate use by the computer, but compare with SRAM (Static Random Access Memory) DRAM is slower. The RAM is a volatile, it's holding data and instruction during computer is on and when computer is turning off all data and instruction will disappear. It receives this information from input devices or backing storage unit. RAM in specific contents can be accessed (read or write) directly in a very short moment. If compare with ROM (Read Only Memory) it only can be read. Following the advertisement, I will gives you 32 Mbytes EDO RAM (Extended Data Output-random Access Memory) or 24 Mbytes SDRAM (Static-Dynamic Random Access Memory). The SDRAM is faster than EDO RAM because SDRAM is combination between Dynamic type and Static type RAM, but EDO RAM only includes Dynamic type technology. On above I already explain for you what is Dynamic and Static RAM. Although SDRAM is faster than EDO RAM but SDRAM price is more expensive than EDO RAM. More RAM means the computer can use bigger and more powerful programs and in other side the programs can access bigger data files and faster. The computer doesn't necessarily have to load an entire program into memory to run it, but the more of the program it can fit into memory, the faster the program will run. For example, a PC (Personal Computer) with 8 Mbytes of RAM is capable for running Microsoft Windows '98, but only most essential parts loads into memory. When it needs access to other parts of the program on the disk, it can unload or swap out and makes a swap file. On the other hand, if your PC has 128Mbytes of RAM or more, you'll notice a dramatic difference in how fast Microsoft Windows '98 loads.

256 Kbytes Cache Memory

Cache memory is a SRAM (Static Random Access Memory). When compare speed SRAM and DRAM, the SRAM is faster than DRAM. In computer we use a small capacity of cache memory, it's because the price of cache memory is most expensive than DRAM. The cache memory system that volatile (temporary) stores frequently used instruction and data for quicker processing by the central processor of a computer. Both main memories DRAM and Cache memory are internal, those use semiconductor-based transistor circuits. Cache memory holds a copy of only the most frequently used information or program codes stored in the main memory, the amount of capacity of the cache memory can reduces the time required to locate data within it and provide it to the Computer for processing. When computer's central processor accesses its internal memory, it first checks to see if the information it need is stored in the cache memory. If it is, the cache returns the data to the processor. If the information is not in the cache, the processor retrieves it from the main memory. Most capacity of cache memory, faster computers process. 256 Kbytes cache memory actually is not enough for one Pentiumâ II computer. I suggest my customer upgrades to 512 Kbytes cache memory. In Pentiumâ II microprocessor, there is L2 (Level 2) cache memory; speed of L2 cache memory is faster than normal cache memory.

2 by 2 Mbytes SIMMs

As you saw earlier, the memory chips come on miniature boards with the chip already attached. SIMM (Single In-Line Memory Module) is a memory board with memory chips on it; can be added to a computer to increase its memory. Additional RAM for Personal Computer (PC) is supplied on single in-line memory module (SIMMs), which plug into special sockets on the motherboard, depending on the chips it contains a SIMM can hold 4Mbytes or more of RAM. In sum SIMM memory is boots up the RAM speed.

14" VGA Monitor with a Maximum Resolution of 640 by 480

The monitor is the output device that converts the machine readable to human readable. There are two types of monitor; there are Digital and Analog. Two important elements determine the quality of the image from monitor displays there are the monitor itself and the video controller. To basics types of monitors are used with microcomputer. The first is the typical monitor that you see on a desktop computer; it looks a lot like a television screen, and works the same way. This type uses a large vacuum tube, called a Cathode Ray Tube (CRT). The second type known as a flat panel monitor is commonly used with notebook computer. Most of these employ Liquid Crystal Displays (LCD) to render image. On this way I introduces you a CRT monitor. It's because you are buy a microcomputer (Personal Computer) no a notebook computer. When people talk about the capabilities of various monitors are critical statistic is the maximum resolution of the monitor. A VGA (Video Graphics Array/Adapter) computer screen for example consists of an array of 640 by 480 dots, resulting in 307,200 individual pixels (small dot combine together to get a text or graphics). If you says 640 by 480 will give a text and graphics insufficient sharp or good looking, you can added some money to changes a monitor to maximum resolution of 1280 by 1024 pixels, resulting in 1,310,720 individual pixels. Then the graphics or text will look very good and sharp.

2.1 Gbytes 14 ms IDE Hard Disk

Hard disks are routinely used for storing current records and application software on Personal Computer (PC) and other large computer may used RAID (Redundant Array of Inexpensive Drives), which consists of a group of hard-disks drives that work together as one disk drive. RAID is widely used with mainframe computer that requires secondary memory of very large capacity. A hard disk is a stack of metal platters that spin on one spindle, like a stack of rigid floppy disks. Each platter is coated with iron oxide and the entire unit is encased in a sealed chambar. The hard disk use the hard drive to run, is the whole unit. The hard drive includes the hard disk, the motor that spins the platters, and a set of read/write head. Hard disks have become the primary storage device for microcomputers because they're incredibly convenient. In both speed and capacities, they out perform floppy disks at every time. Hard disk is a non-removable included in most PCs (Personal Computer); it holds much more information than a floppy disk and used to store relatively large amount of data. Hard disk is a backing storage, commonly used to store a data, information, applications software, operating system and etc. The most amount of capacity of hard disk can stored more data, information and etc. Following criteria; I give you 2.1 Gbytes IDE hard disk. If you think is not enough for you, I will upgrade for you with 5.1 Gbytes Quantum Fireball or you want 10.1 Gbytes Quantum Big Foot. If compare this two type of hard disk, the Quantum Fireball is faster than Quantum Big Foot, but disadvantage of Quantum Fireball is capacity of hard disk less than Quantum Big Foot. If you get Quantum Fireball, you think is insufficient for you, I will introduce you "Zip Drive" later. The IDE is stand for Integrated Drive Electronics. The IDE interface places most of the controller's circuitry on the drive itself to provide a simpler with computer and more reliable operation than was realized with the older ST-506 drives. IDE drives have their own on board program instructions that make the task of configuring the drive for a computer easy. EIDE (Enhance Integrated Drive Electronics) is faster than IDE (Integrated D rive Electronics).

3.5" inch/1.44 Mbytes floppy disk drive

A floppy disk is a round, flat piece of plastic that is coated with iron oxide and encased in a plastic or vinyl cover. A floppy disk is a device that reads and writes data to end from floppy disks. The drive includes a spindle that rotates the disk, and read/write heads that can move in and out as the disk spins to position themselves at any spot on the disk's surface. This flexibility is important, because it allows the heads can skip from one spot to another without having to scan through data that's stored between the old and new locations. A 3.5" inch floppy disk has a hard plastic shell. A sliding metal cover protects the disk's surface while the disk is out of the drive. When the disk is inserted into the drive, the cover slides back to expose the disk to the read/write head. The 3.5" inch size come in three capacities: double density, high density and very high density. The density of the disk is a measure of the quality of the disk surface: the higher the density, the more closely the iron oxide particles are packed, and the more data the disk can store. Following criteria only used high density (1.44 Mbytes) or double density (1.2 Mbytes) and cannot use very high density (2.88 Mbytes).

CD-ROM, Sound Card and Speakers

CD-ROM abbreviation of Compact Disc Read Only Memory, type of computer memory in the form of a compact disc that is read by optical means. CD-ROM is a type of optical storage. A CD-ROM drive uses a low-power laser beam to read digitized (binary) data to a computer for processing. Because it uses digital data, CD-ROM can store images and sound in addition to text and is thus used in video and audio devices to store music, graphics and movies. Unlike conventional magnetic-storage technologies (e.g.: Hard Disk), CD-ROM drives cannot write information (that is cannot accept input of new data), hence the tag "read only". The larger CD-ROMs, however, can store 640 Mbytes of information. If you want a CD-ROM can rewrite or input new data, you may upgrades your CD-ROM to recordable CD-ROM. The fact that you can't write data to a CD-ROM doesn't mean that storage medium isn't useful. In fact, many applications rely on huge volumes of data that rarely change. For example, dictionaries, Microsoft Windows '98, legal or other professional reference libraries In fact, if you have a sound card and speakers connected to your computer and compatible with CD-ROM, you can play audio CDs and Video Compact Disc (VCD) with your PC (Personal Computer/Microcomputer). If you want advance technology, I suggest you extra add DVD ROM. The DVD ROM is more effective compare with CD-ROM, because capacity of DVD-ROM more than CD-ROM. Sound card produces high-quality audio sound. This card usually provides ports in the back of computer for external speakers or blasters and sometimes a microphone jack for audio input. The speakers will send out (output) the sound; normally the speakers or blasters are a sound output. The speakers or blasters also convert a digital (binary) to sound heard by human.

Video Card with 512 Kbytes VRAM

The video card much like a sound card but sound card for sound and video card for video images. Both of them also are circuits board. Video card process windows image and provide ports for video feeds to or from a VCR (video Cassette Recorder) or video camera. Additions such as these can set up your Personal Computer (PC) for multimedia application. 512 Kbytes VRAM (Video Random Access Memory) is use to store a video image and support video card to process faster. VRAM is a type of volatile memory, the general purpose or concept actually some with another RAM, but VRAM especially for video image. If you 512 Kbytes not enough for you, you may change display card to S3 Virge 3D 2Mbytes display card. This card will run MPEG (VCD-Video Compact Disc) smoothly.

Desktop Case with small foot prints

The main intention of case is like a human body to cover all hard ware, such as processor, RAM, motherboard, hard disk and etc. It is made by a stainless steel, because make the case cover not easy to damage and affect computer inside, in the other hand, all hard ware must have a well care. The most common style of Personal Computer (PC) is that one I introduce for you; the desktop case model. Most of these computers are small enough to fit on a desk, but are a little too big to carry around with you. The desktop model common for people who no want to upgrades a computer after brought. It's because desktop model generally fit properly with contains and hard to setup any new hard ware inside. But if you think you want upgrades your computer after buying, I will suggest you select a tower model. It's because tower model will gives more space to at in any new hard ware such as modem (internal), adapter, sound card, fan (for processor) and etc. Tower model often placed on the floor to preserve desk space, in the other hand, tower model also have many type, such a mini tower, medium tower and etc. Foot print are a small black rubber under computer casing. The main intention of small foot print is to fix the desktop case or tower case on desk or floor and make sure their not easy to move when people kick or touch or push the casing.

MODEM Voice & Fax

MODEM abbreviation of Modulation / Demodulation. A MODEM is a device that is designed to transform digital electronic data from a source as a Personal Computer (PC), data terminal, or fax machine into a signaling format that is compatible with the telephone line. MODEM is necessary for data communication over the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN). MODEM operates in part by communication with each other, but they must follow matching protocol or operating standard. MODEM 56 KBPS External, this MODEM machine will places beside outside the casing and 56 KBPS is it means can transfer 56 Kbytes per second. Voice & Fax MODEM its mean can transfer the voice and fax the document from PC to another PC. Voice MODEM usually used for Net Meeting.

Printer

Besides the monitor, the other important output device is the printer. It might seem that printing would be a one-way operation, with data moving from the computer to the printer. The printer have divided by three categories, there are impact, non-impact, and plotter. I will introduce for you is non-impact categories, because quality of non-impact better than impact, but more expensive than impact (cost of operation). If you used printer to print out information, it's called a hard copy (Computer Term). Four criteria are most important for buying a printer is image quality (resolution), speed, noise level, and cost of operation (cartridge refill and servicing). Printer is a output device totally difference with monitor output device, it's because output of printer is called a hard copy and can kept long time. I introduce you HP (Hewlett Packard) DeskJet 890C. It's print black colour, quality up to 600 dpi and colour print quality equal to photo quality. It also has built-in RAM as many as 0.5 Mbytes and also can print on a variety of media. There is another new product; it is HP LaserJet 6P Network Printer. The HP LaserJet 6P Network Printer is highly flexible and able to meet your business' growing needs. More memory and Adobe Postscript Level 2 SIMM can be added to extend its functionality; optional Flash SIMM can be added for forms storage. Besides, the HP JetDirect EX Plus print server Flash memory allows for easy, "future-proof" upgrade over the network. With the HP LaserJet 6P Network printer, you can print up to 10 times faster than using conventional data switch boxes or PC/file print servers over the network. Apart from giving you better performance, the HP LaserJet 6P Network printer is also much more reliable. In addition, it offers far with HP's JetAdmin Printer Management software. It's also compatible with leading networking operating system.

Scanners

A scanner is useful for who write the HTML and JAVA script (Home Page Builder). A scanner also is a type of input. A scanner can view and converts the image into digitized form and send to computer as an input graphics. Scanners can scan photo, graphics, image and etc into Personal Computer (PC) and to edit or any purpose uses.

Zip Drive

Zip drive use a specific diskette, the zip drive known as a secondary storage. But capacity compare with 3.5" inch drive, the Zip drive will greater than 3.5" inch drive. It's because a piece of Zip Drive diskette may contains 100 Mbytes - 120 Mbytes information or data. Zip Drive can stored many data; it's because on Zip drive diskette surfaces the iron oxide at very close with each other.
